So the UK summer is finally here, it's been a long wait but now we have sunshine. After touring Covent Garden in London yesterday, a must on everyone's shopping list has to be...... SUNGLASSES. I have to say, I am a big fan of Sunglasses and being in the fashion industry means looking at other peoples designs and getting inspiration. The first place to look would be Sunglass Hut, but they have what you expect, brands such as Ray Ban, Chanel, Dior, Gucci ect. But I found some interesting places that have something special.
The first place for men's I was impressed with was Ben Sherman's sunglasses collection, they really took their designs to another level. If you like sunglasses you'll know there are a few styles but within those styles they are more or less the same, it's the small details that make something look WOW. It's hard to put my finger on it but something about Ben Shermans Sunglasses Collection I saw in the Ben Sherman Shop in Convent Garden just had originality, the curves, the corners made something special, check them out.
The second place that caught my eye was an opticians in Covent Garden - http://www.operaopera.net/. They had true vintage sunglasses and a room for appointment only. A sign on their vault door saying "for serious eye wearers only". A truly amazing collection if you want something unique and truly vintage.
So anyone in London looking for sunglasses don't just go to Sunglass Hut, check out these two gems as well. Happy shopping.
